Live music venues

Live music makes a significant contribution to the cultural well being of Victorians and makes a significant economic contribution to Victoria.

An 2010 agreement between representatives of the live music industry, the Victorian Government and the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation provides for a commonsense approach to the imposition of crowd controller conditions on live music venues.

Live music venues with crowd controller conditions will be able to apply to have those conditions varied for free. For more information, download the following Licence conditions for live music venues fact sheet (PDF, 331KB), the Live music agreement (PDF, 843KB), and the Live music accord (PDF, 290KB) documents.

Licensees who wish to vary their licence conditions in relation to crowd controllers, CCTV cameras and Responsible Service of Alcohol trained staff can do so by completing the procedure set out here.
