Inquiries Review Project

VCGLRLegislation

The Commission has launched a project to improve the way it conducts hearings and inquiries.

In 2016, a review was conducted of the Commission’s existing inquiry processes and procedures in order to identify areas of improvement within the current legislative framework.

Many of the review’s recommendations involve the Commission in clarifying inquiry practices and procedures to ensure that inquiries are conducted efficiently and that parties involved can participate effectively with better knowledge of the inquiry process.

Accordingly, the Commission has commenced the development of Practice Notes and Information Sheets which will clarify procedures and practices for Commission inquiries.

Draft Information Sheets and Practice Notes which are accessible for consultation will be provided in the below table. If you have any comments or feedback for the VCGLR concerning the draft Practice Notes, please email the Commission at kimberley.molloy@vcglr.vic.gov.au

As draft Practice Notes and Information Sheets are developed over time, they will be published on this page. Once approved by the Commission, Practice Notes and Information Sheets will come into effect and be published on the About Commission hearings and decisions page.
