With the beginning of daylight savings, some licensees will be affected by the change in hour.
Daylight saving begins on Sunday 1 October 2017 at 2am (Eastern Standard Time), which means that at 2am clocks should be moved forward one hour, to 3am.
Licensees who can trade beyond 2am will lose one hour of trade. Affected licensees must ensure that they continue to responsibly serve alcohol and meet the conditions of their licence.
What this means for gaming venue operators
Gaming venue operators are reminded that gaming activities cannot take place outside of the authorised liquor trading hours.
They should also check that time displays on gaming machines automatically go forward an hour.
Venue operators should visit the Intralot Gaming Services (IGS) website for more information about machine time displays.
