Please make sure you follow the instructions in the pre-lodgement checklist before you lodge your application.

Information about application and annual renewal fees associated with liquor licences in Victoria can be found on our liquor licence application fees page.

Applicants are advised to lodge liquor licence applications at least eight weeks in advance. The time taken to process an application will vary depending on a range of factors including the complexity of the application and any objections which may be raised.

On-premises licence

This licence authorises the licensee to supply liquor on the licensed premises for consumption on the licensed premises.

Late night (general or on-premises) licence

This application form must be completed when applying for a general licence or an on-premises licence where trading hours extend beyond 1am.

A general or late night (general) licence authorises the licensee to supply liquor for consumption on and off the licensed premises (e.g. hotel with bottleshop). Note: For all general licences granted after 20 February 2012, the licensee is not authorised to only supply packaged liquor for off-premises consumption. An on-premises licence authorises the supply of liquor for consumption on the premises (e.g. a bar or nightclub).
