The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) processes and determines temporary limited and major event licences for Melbourne and Victorian events including Good Food and Wine, Good Beer Week, The Royal Melbourne Show and Spring Racing Carnival. We recommend event organisers contact the VCGLR whilst planning an event and before you apply for a new licence. Event organisers and managers can coordinate with a Licensing Officer who will provide direction on application requirements, content and approval timelines. Event organisers should allow a minimum of six to eight weeks for the VCGLR to review and process temporary limited licence applications or major event applications. Timeframes specific to the event can be discussed with the Licensing Officer managing the application process.
