With revellers travelling from interstate, all over Victoria, and from overseas to celebrate at inner city and regional meets, it can be a busy time for Victorian venues. So be prepared and vigilant with your obligations this spring time.
Celebrations often occur away from the track. With after parties, and racing themed events occurring for non-trackside patrons, there are possibilities of larger crowds at participating venues throughout Victoria. Licensees are reminded to keep things in check and remain responsible this racing season.
Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation inspectors will be attending metro and regional events to ensure that venues are complying with requirements for responsible service of alcohol, the responsible service of gaming and under age patron requirements at licensed premises.
Licensees are encouraged to review their responsibilities and licence conditions when it comes to underage patrons on premises. Ensuring ID’s are checked at multiple checkpoints and ensuring all staff are briefed on your venues licence conditions, are just a few of the measures licensees can enact to ensure compliance.
Responsibility with alcohol and responsible gambling will also be targeted throughout the racing season. Make sure your staff’s certificates are up to date and red line plans are being adhered to when it comes to the supply of alcohol and gambling activities.
