The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation's (VCGLR) interactive Licensed Venues Map is a dynamic and searchable map that locates gambling and liquor licensed venues across metropolitan and regional Victoria, and can be accessed on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Recently upgraded, the interactive map now lists gambling venues (including hotels, pubs and clubs with electronic gaming machines) as well as Keno and wagering outlets. Including these new data sets will provide users with a detailed and comprehensive geographic view of licensed gambling and liquor venues across Victoria’s busy hospitality precincts.
Researchers, academics, local government, co-regulators and the community may use the map to view the number of licensed venues in a particular area, assess potential planning permit requirements in context and inform strategy development to reduce alcohol-related harm. Users are also able to export and download data as a CSV file for their own reference and ongoing research
Using the Licensed Venue Map’s upgraded search and filter tools, users can find venues by street address, suburb or town, venue name, licence number or licence category. Users can also examine venue density by location or venue type and explore the map manually.
The Licensed Venues Map is an ongoing project funded by VicHealth and the VCGLR with geo-coding data support from the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority. This data assists Triple Zero (000) operators to quickly locate an emergency call from licensed premises.
