Deferral extended: collection of gaming taxes for March 2020

In light of the current COVID-19 restrictions a further deferral has been granted for the outstanding March 2020 gaming tax. The new collection date will be Tuesday 7 September 2021.

As previously advised, gaming taxes due and payable by venue operators for March 2020 were deferred by the Victorian Government to assist venue operators manage the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic at that time.

In December 2020, post the recommencement of gaming, the Minister approved further deferral of the collection of outstanding March 2020 gaming tax until June 2021. 

We have been advised that in light of the current COVID-19 restrictions a further deferral has been granted. The new collection date for the outstanding March 2020 gaming tax will be Tuesday 7 September 2021.
