The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation’s Sixth Review of the Casino Operator and Licence has been released.
The review provides an in-depth examination of the operation of the casino to determine whether Crown Melbourne Ltd is complying with relevant requirements and remains suitable to hold the casino licence.
The Sixth Review found that Crown Melbourne Ltd is suitable to hold the casino licence and is generally compliant with relevant requirements, however, it has made a number of recommendations for improvement.
The review conducted an extensive investigation based on information, submissions and interviews with relevant parties.
The recommendations relate largely to issues concerning responsible gambling at Crown and improved corporate governance arrangements.
Under the Casino Control Act 1991 the VCGLR is required to investigate the Melbourne casino operator every five years.
