The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) today published its Corporate Plan 2017-20 setting out the long-term direction of the organisation.
The plan outlines the VCGLR’s vision for Victorians and visitors to enjoy safe and responsible gambling and liquor environments and explains how we will achieve this by focusing on three key priorities; modernising regulatory tools and processes, providing a collaborative and unified environment, and, increasing strategic influence to achieve outcomes.
Key to the Corporate Plan is building stronger partnerships with stakeholders, working across our networks to achieve better results and increasing our influence as a regulator.
In addition, the plan provides a framework that activities can be measured against to ensure consistency with the long-term direction of the organisation. The plan will also assist in improving the VCGLR’s performance reporting.
VCGLR CEO Catherine Myers said that through the plan, the VCGLR will be positioned as a strong and influential regulator leading to positive outcomes for the Victorian community.
“We regulate complex industries and must continually develop our approach and capabilities to ensure we are well equipped to meet future challenges,” Ms Myers said.
“As outlined in the plan, we will be using innovation and new ideas as well as relationships with stakeholders to improve how we do business. This in turn builds confidence in the effectiveness of our activities.”
