Community safety a key focus for Wellington Shire Forum.
Making sure Victorians living in the Wellington Shire area have a safe and healthy festive season was the main focus of a recently held cross-agency forum.
A number of compliance staff from the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation joined representatives from Victoria Police, the Wellington Primary Care Partnership and the Wellington Shire Council to discuss a range of issues to help the community to have an enjoyable Christmas and Summer period.
Some of the topics discussed included the process of granting liquor licences, the VCGLR’s compliance approach, upcoming events, identifying local trends and community planning.
Holding cross-agency meetings gives the VCGLR and our partners a greater understanding of the work that each organisation is doing in the community and what support can be given to achieve positive outcomes.
The VCGLR’s Sale office was established earlier this year, and has given VCGLR staff the opportunity to work closely with the local community and highlight the important role the organisation plays in the Wellington Shire area to ensure a safer environment for everyone.
