Permanent underage authority for clubs

Clubs may apply for approval to allow unaccompanied underage persons on their licensed premises for sporting and ancillary activities

Ancillary activities include:

  • training
  • coaching
  • attending team meetings
  • treatment of injuries
  • use of change rooms
  • completion of paperwork
  • purchasing or obtaining sports equipment
  • presentation functions
  • having refreshments or a meal.

This approval does not include social events. Persons under 18 years may only attend social functions if accompanied by a responsible adult.

A responsible adult is a person over the age of 18 years who is the minor's:

  • parent
  • step-parent
  • guardian
  • grandparent
  • spouse, or
  • a person who is acting in place of a parent (who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of the minor).
