Permanent underage authority for clubs
Clubs may apply for approval to allow unaccompanied underage persons on their licensed premises for sporting and ancillary activities
Ancillary activities include:
- training
- coaching
- attending team meetings
- treatment of injuries
- use of change rooms
- completion of paperwork
- purchasing or obtaining sports equipment
- presentation functions
- having refreshments or a meal.
This approval does not include social events. Persons under 18 years may only attend social functions if accompanied by a responsible adult.
A responsible adult is a person over the age of 18 years who is the minor's:
- parent
- step-parent
- guardian
- grandparent
- spouse, or
- a person who is acting in place of a parent (who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of the minor).
