Exemption from RSA training requirements
Licensees who hold a general, on-premises, late night or packaged liquor licence may apply for an exemption from one or more of the requirements relating to the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
Licensees may apply for an extension of time to comply with, or permanent exemption from, one or all of the RSA requirements. RSA training is an important component of a risk management strategy to minimise alcohol-related harm. Therefore, licensees are required to provide a detailed explanation of the reason they are seeking an exemption from one or all of the RSA requirements.
The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation has the discretionary power to exempt some licensees from the requirement to undertake RSA. The Commission may either choose to exempt a licensee or class of licensees without an application being made or the Commission may grant an application for an exemption.
The Exemption from the Responsible Service of Alcohol training requirements form (PDF, 455 KB) is available for this purpose.
