This page outlines the standard licence obligations for bookmakers and key employees.

Bookmakers

There are certain obligations required of a registered bookmaker. See Gambling fact sheet - Information for a registered bookmaker.

Registered bookmakers are prohibited from employing or otherwise engaging persons convicted of a "relevant offence" in the last 10 years.

A relevant offence is:

  • an offence against the Racing Act 1958, a gaming act, or regulations
  • an offence involving fraud or dishonesty punishable by imprisonment for three months or more
  • an indictable offence, or an offence that, if committed in Victoria would be an indictable offence.

See Application process and requirements of a registered bookmaker for more information.

Key employees

There are certain obligations required of a registered bookmaker's key employee. See Information for registered bookmaker's key employees.

If you would like a copy of any of these documents in a more accessible format, submit and enquiry via the contact us page.
