The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) has released three instructional videos to help licensed premises be inspection ready.
Presented by VCGLR Inspectors, the videos take liquor licensees through what they can expect during an inspection for:
VCGLR compliance inspectors cover the state of Victoria 24-hours a day, seven days a week and can visit licensed premises any time they are open for business or by prior arrangement.
Inspections will go ahead regardless of whether a licensee or manager is present at the time so licensees should ensure they educate venue staff on:
If information is requested during an inspection and can’t be produced, this can be recorded as a breach against the licence and may result in a warning letter or penalty.
Inspections of licensed premises are important to ensure liquor is promoted and sold in a way that encourages responsible drinking.
